This quarter in science we studied landforms and the forces that shape them. Using the vocabulary we learned tell me about your favorite part of the unit and about one way forces shape our world.
I loved the last unit where we decided on our own, it was very time consuming but we managed. My classmates and I decided that we should take a more meditative approach at the assignment, and took the small one hole cup, if we took the three hole cup all of our houses would be drowned! It was really fun Mr. Gilliam, I really enjoyed the class project. To satisfy you one way the forces shape our land is by erosion, it wears away the land, a perfect example is "The Grand Canyon" a national landmark I might add. It's amazing what a simple force of nature can do to a simple piece of land... Jared
My favorite thing we did where we made shelter for our block people. In our land we dug a hole and we thought it would protect us from erosion. It filled up and almost got mine we dammed my place up so if it got to me no one else would drown. The water went underground and almost got us it eroded through everything.A way forces shape our world is water erodes rocks and cuts river and creates canyons. Carson
My favorite part of the unit in science is when we did land form with dirt and made our own little town. In my group and I made our town we used sticks, straws and rocks to make a dam. Then we used water with a cup with 3 hole on the bottom. We poured the water in the cup and we had to find out whose house would survive. My opinon about one way forces shape our world is mostly rain because water will flood in puddles. Then the rain makes rivers and canyons in the river.
My favorite unit was making a dam to save our house. It was hard to keep are house protected with all that water going in a rush. One way forces shape of the world is that it has a bad flood.Like one of our lesson had a time were the water went to the top.I like this class. Dominique
My favorite part of the unit is protecting the houses I put popsicle sticks to my house there was a little hole close to my house at the front my group made a big whole so it can get the water through so the houses won't get destroyed rocks were blocking my house so water does destroy my house I made a way for the water so it won't go to my house. I made the popsicle sticks stand so water does not flood my house. One way forces shape our world is water cause it is heavy and it can destroy rocks.
My favorite part of the unit was messing in the dirt.I liked messing in the dirt beacause we got to shape it,play in it and put alot of water in it using the three hole cup.One way the earth changes is floods the floods change land by in covering the land and changes it.
My favorite unit this quarter is the water with the one and three hole cup.I like this lesson because it told me how land forms react to floods and landslides.
My favorite unit this quarter in science is when we got to do a project on landforms.I like the one where we had houses on our land that we made.It was really fun and my whole land flooded when we added water to our land but Levi's house was the first house to drown. My house was the last one to drown. And water was everywhere on the floor and desks.
My favorite part of this unit is when we put houses in places in our land.We wanted to see whose house fell into the pond. Most houses didn't fall down.Only about one or two houses did not survived the strong current of water. My house is one of the houses that survived. That is my favorite part of the unit. Enrique
My favorite part was when we tried to build a dam and we had these cubes that where house and we would see if are dam protected are houses. Most houses survived.
My favorite thing about science this year was we could play in the dirt and construct our own landform. We had so much fun doing our project, also we did a lot of rivers and floods. I loved to be God in my landform. YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!(=
My favorite part of the science experiment was when we had to pour the water into the cup with the big hole.It caused an erosion, made a delta, and it made tributaries. In case you didn't know tributary means a stream flowing into a larger stream or a lake. Tyeon
My favorite part was when we made landforms and saw how the water made valleys and streams.I also enjoyed when we made our towns to see whose house would survive the floods.I also liked it when we got to mix up the dirt. One way forces shape our world is water rushes and landslides form.
My favorite part of the science experiments was when we and we used the differnt materials to keep our little houses from drowning. It was when it made valleys and dams to save our little houses. Also my favorite experiment was when we made the eroison. It was cool when the three hole cup tore a a giant canyon and a valley. That was the best thing ever.
The thing that shapes our world is water, weather and movement of land. The water takes away the dirt while moving down stream. The weather can cause floods, fires and storms.Me and my group did a test to see how a storm can effct the land.We did alot of fun stuff and we had a great time.
My favorite unit was when we had to think on our selves where would be the right spot to put our houses to protect them from a flood .It took a while to think it through but my partners and me didn't die from the flood of doom. One way earth got its shape was becomes of floods. The great canyon was shaped by water which got deeper because of rain with made the water have so much forces that it broke through the great canyon!
My favorite part of the unit is when we made the village with hills, dams, houses, grass, dirt, humus, rocks and sand.We also pour water to see who will survive all the experiments.
You guys are amazing! I can see exactly what you did by your comments! I know Mr. Gilliam always does exciting learning activities to teach you all in new ways. I was just checking out your blog to see what my friends at Bolton are doing. KEEP POSTING! That's how I can see what you're learning! Miss you guys. Hope to stop by one day to visit.

My favoret part in science is when we put the houses on the hill to see who would stay on longer.
